"A Model Church"

The Birth of the Church “Acts 2:1-3” They were all in one accord in one place……Did you hear that? One accord, one place, one passion, one purpose. They were in that upper room for one reason, to pursue the Lord in response to the command the Lord had given them in “Luke 24:49” …tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” What do we see here? We see the church coming together with one thing in mind…..to seek the Presence of God, to wait on the Lord, to be endued with power from on high! Isn’t that what Moses wanted as well in the Old Testament. Moses said, Lord unless your Presence goes with us we ain’t leaving this place. Unless the Presence of the Lord shows up at church we ain’t had church. This is what they came looking for in the upper room. They came expecting to receive something from God, they came expecting to receive a touch from God, they came expecting to experience something……the point is they came expecting……..They came with something in their heart that God loves to see. God loves to see a heart after God. Remember David, a man after God’s own heart. God will respond to a heart that hungers and thirst for Him. That’s the way we should come to church, expecting to see God manifest His Presence, and endue us with power from on high. God saw 120 hearts pursuing His Presence and Power and then the Bible says ‘SUDDENLY’….there came a sound from heaven.

"Merry Christmas"

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today as you gather with family and friends. Of course Christmas today is all about gifts, meals, light, trees, and telling old war stories. Jesus Christ gets left in the dust of all our holiday activities. As believers we know that Jesus is the center piece of Christmas. In today's intolerate culture we can't go into our family gatherings preaching Jesus. They can turn off our preaching. But they can't turn off the preacher of our lifestyle. Walk right into our Christmas gathering and let the love of Christ preach to them, let the light of Christ preach to them, let the compassion of Christ preach to them, let the concern for others preach to them, let them eat before you eat preach to them, let the kindness shown to the one you dislike the most preach to them. In a culture that won't listen to preaching, preach anyway through your Christ-like behavior, they can't turn off your life! Merry Christmas and don't eat too much!

In Christ,

"Whatever Happened to WORSHIP"
I find that in the church culture of today its increasingly difficult to experience true worship. Is there a church anymore who understands worship? Is there a worship leader who understands the objective of worship? It seems to me that church worship today has degenerated into a man-centered dynamic. Biblical worship is a God-centered dynamic. Worship leaders today are preocuppied with what pleases man, and it never even dawns on them of what pleases God in worship. The trend is to keep up with the latest contemporary songs that are coming out. I'm not against using contemporary songs, but where is the discernment in picking which songs are anointed for use in worship. Where is the discernment to know which songs contemporary or old that has the ability to minister to the Lord. We have become very adept at pleasing man in worship but know almost nothing about pleasing the Lord in worship. If we sing a song and there is no anointing on it, if it doesn't cause the people to enter into worship, then chunck that song. Don't keep using it because the worship leader likes that new song, or the worship leader thinks the people likes that song. Do you see the man-centered dynamic here. Thats why we have so many songs in our worship list that do not evoke or provoke worship. God deliver us from man-centered worship.

The Father seeks worshippers who worship Him in spirit and in truth. Authentic, biblical worship has the ability to transport us from earth to glory, from the flesh to the spirit. If your church worship doesn't transition you into the spiritual realm, then you don't have biblical worship. If your worship service doesn't move you into the spirit, then you will remain earthbound in a man-centered worship dynamic. On the other hand, if your worship service can move you into the spirit, then it has released you into the liberty of seeing and experiencing the spirit world. In that spirit world is where we behold our God. We are brought face to face with Him with whom we have to do. Worshipping in spirit and truth means to the ability to get into the spirit realm and to behold the reality of God in His element. When we are brought into that realm and reality face to face with God then there will be no problem worshipping. Hands will lift, and voices will ring out as we become one with our God. This is what I find that churches have lost sight of, or have never learned in the first place. The longer I live, the longer I'm a Christian, I find the more I want to worship God. To me there is nothing more sublime than to be brought to the place where I behold the Mighty, Majectic One and cry, Holy, Holy, Holy!
